Holding the Line on Taxes

Posted by: Roxanne Carr

As a Council, we do not act in isolation. We work as a team to bring priorities, projects, and needs to life. I was proud to lead a strong team over the past four years and I am proud of Council's track record when it comes to fiscal accountability, responsibility, and transparency.

Last year alone, taxpayers saved $9 million on their tax bill. That's $90 per individual resident (yes, even the toddlers). Because of the newly implemented Priority-Based Budgeting, we were able to streamline and create efficiencies that didn't exist before. This resulted in a 2.62 percent reduction in your taxes from 2013.

Over the next four years, I plan to hold the line on taxes. I promise to continue to look for more efficiencies in local government through our Priority-Based system to keep County spending under control. This means more money in your wallet at the end of the day.

I'm extremely proud of the work Council put forward these last four years. I'm excited to see what we can accomplish the next four!
